Nā Lima ʻŌlelo – Hands That Speak, Hearts That Serve
We are more than a team. We are part of this island community. Big Island Interpreters was born of a desire to serve with both skill and soul.
We come from different walks of life, but we are united by shared values: pono, kuleana, and a deep belief that access to language is a right.
Our commitment is grounded in action; building trust with the Deaf community, showing up with integrity, and honoring the spaces we interpret in, whether it’s a courtroom, classroom, hospital, or community event.
This work isn’t about being seen; it’s about making sure others are.
We approach our work with respect for the land (mālama ʻāina), for the people we serve, and for the cultural landscapes we move through daily. We’re not just visitors to this place. We’re part of it.
We interpret with precision, cultural care, and humility, bridging language so that everyone is seen, heard, and understood. We proudly serve Hawaiʻi Island’s diverse communities, Deaf and hearing alike, with professionalism and heart.
